Step 1: Initial Consultation Call

- Discuss Your Needs: During this call, share what brings you to therapy and any specific concerns or goals you have.
- Learn About Services: Jennifer will provide an overview of her treatment approach as it relates to your needs and answer any questions you may have.
Step 2: Scheduling Your First Appointment
- Choose a Time: Based on your availability, you’ll schedule your first appointment. Jennifer will make every effort to accommodate your preferred time(s). While a standing session slot is recommended, flexible appointment scheduling is available to clients who are unable to maintain the same day/time each week.
- Complete Intake Forms: You will receive a digital packet of intake forms to fill out prior to your visit. Please make every effort to complete them at least 24-hours prior to your appointment.
Step 3: First Appointment (Intake Session)
- Welcome and Introduction: Jennifer will provide a brief overview in order to create a comfortable and confidential environment for you.
- Discuss Your History: You’ll share more about your personal history, challenges, and what you hope to achieve through participating in treatment.
- Assess Your Needs: Jennifer will ask specific questions to assess various aspects of your your mental health and begin to recommend a tailored treatment approach.
Step 4: Treatment Plan Development
- Collaborate on Goals: Together, you’ll establish clear, achievable goals for therapy.
- Outline the Approach: Jennifer will explain the therapeutic methods that may be used, ensuring they align with your needs and the achievement of your treatment goals.
- Duration: The assessment and treatment planning phase of therapy is typically three to four sessions in length.
Step 5: Weekly Sessions
- Regular Appointments: Initially, your appointments will be weekly (if not more frequent) in order to grow your comfort level and sense of trust in treatment. Once you've established a comfortable rhythm, you are welcome to adjust your appointment frequency to what works best for you. Jennifer will make frequency and duration recommendations based on your needs. Frequency options include twice a week, weekly, less than weekly, and twice a month.
- Ongoing Support: Each session will build on previous discussions, focusing on progress towards your goals. This will also foster increased self-awareness as you begin to notice recurring themes and patterns.
- Skill Development: Jennifer will introduce applicable strategies and techniques throughout to help you manage challenges and foster personal growth.
Step 6: Progress Evaluation
- Periodic Check-ins: Regularly, you and Jennifer will review your progress, discuss any changes, and adjust goals as necessary.
- Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge the improvements and skills you’ve developed throughout the process.
Step 7: Transitioning and Closing
- Assessing Readiness: As you progress, Jennifer will discuss your readiness to conclude therapy or transition to less frequent sessions.
- Planning for the Future: Together, you’ll create a plan for maintaining your progress, including coping strategies and resources for ongoing support.
Step 8: Follow-Up
- Post-Therapy Support: After concluding regular sessions, you may wish to schedule follow-up appointments as needed to check in on your progress and reinforce skills learned in therapy. These sessions are routine in nature and are often referred to as "booster sessions."
