If you’ve been thinking about therapy for a while, that’s usually a sign it’s time. We work with thoughtful, driven individuals and couples who recognize that their usual self-reliance will only get them so far. True growth doesn’t happen in isolation; it requires partnering with a clinician who will support and challenge you.
Evidence-based therapy in Boston for high-achievers ready for real change.
You don’t need generic advice or surface-level reassurance.
You need someone who understands how capable people get stuck and how to help them get un-stuck.
On paper, you’re doing well. You’re competent, responsible, and successful by most (if not all) external measures. Internally, however, you know something’s wrong. Maybe it’s anxiety that won’t quiet, a relationship that feels increasingly fragile, or burnout that rest doesn’t touch. You’ve tried to logic your way out of it, work harder at feeling better, and just push through it like always.
And now, it’s not working anymore.
You’re not broken. You’re not failing. The strategies that once served you simply aren’t sufficient for what you’re facing now. High-functioning people often struggle here. Not because you lack insight or motivation, but because your problems require support, not just more effort.
The skills that got you here won’t get you where you want to go.
We work with individuals and couples throughout Boston, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida and South Carolina on the specific issues that bring successful, self-reliant people to therapy.
We don’t do “just talk it out” therapy
Most therapy practices out there offer the same approach: vague supportive listening, promoting self-care, and generic suggestions you’ve already tried. While this may work for some people, it won’t work for you.
You want an experienced therapist that knows when to offer reassurance, when to collaborate, and when to hold you accountable.
Jennifer’s work is grounded in supportive structure and depth. Before opening JP Psychotherapy, she trained in hospital-based settings where she developed expertise in measurable outcomes, ethical precision, and evidence-based treatment.
The most effective work requires both rigor and real connection, so I opened JP Psychotherapy. A practice dedicated to providing research-backed therapy with honesty, warmth, and partnership in accountability. Clients say I feel like a teammate who's just as invested as they are.
Specific concerns require an expertly tailored approach. Select what’s right for you:
Compassionate support to heal betrayal, rebuild trust, and decide a clear path forward together or apart.
Explore expectations, values, and communication skills to build a strong, intentional foundation.
Reconnect emotionally and physically by strengthening communication, trust, and closeness.
Develop the ability to experience and respond to your anxiety in the ways that serve you best.
Evidence-based support to ease heaviness, restore hope, and help you reconnect with meaning and vitality.
Build resilience and stronger connections by addressing stress, communication patterns, and the pressure you’ve been carrying alone.
Restore balance and resilience by addressing overwhelm, setting boundaries, and reconnecting with what sustains you.
A safe, trauma-informed space to process painful experiences, restore nervous-system balance, and reclaim yourself.
Starting therapy shouldn’t be complicated. Here’s exactly what to expect when you work with us.
Fill out the contact form on our website, and we will reach out to schedule your call.
This gives you the opportunity to discuss your needs, learn about our approach, ask questions, and help you determine if we’re a good fit.
In your first few sessions, we’ll spend time getting to know you, discuss where you’re stuck, and create a plan that’s best aligned with the changes you hope to achieve.
We’ll check in on your progress throughout your treatment, make adjustments as needed, and keep you on course to ultimately need therapy less and less.
She has a grounded, wholistic, genuine approach using evidence-based strategies and her years of experience to make an impact. I’ve gained so much from her over our years of shared learning, and even shared clients (who adore her); not to mention she is hilarious, authentic, and incredibly warm!
Jennifer is very kind and compassionate, and her approach is disarming for clients and colleagues alike. I also have always been impressed not only by Jennifer’s depth of clinical knowledge, but her breadth in learning new evidence-based approaches to flexibly incorporate into her treatments.
Jennifer is a great resource for those looking to enhance their clinical skill. As someone who has been in the field for over a decade I would absolutely be comfortable referring my clients to her.
Everything you need to know before starting therapy.
You don't, not with certainty. But research shows evidence-based approaches (CBT, IBCT, etc.) are highly effective for the issues we treat. We use proven methods, not guesswork. Most clients notice some improvement within 6-8 weeks if they're engaged in the process.
Depends on what you're addressing and your goals. Some issues improve in 3-6 months. Others (complex trauma, deeply ingrained patterns) take 6-12+ months. We discuss timeline expectations in your first session based on your specific situation.
We're a private pay practice and don't accept insurance directly. We provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients receive partial or full reimbursement depending on their plan.
Fair question. Consider: What's the cost of not addressing this? Damaged relationships, missed opportunities, health consequences, years of suffering? Therapy is an investment in every area of your life. If the problem is affecting you significantly, addressing it early is always more cost-effective than waiting until crisis.
We specialize in high-achieving adults who value evidence-based treatment and direct communication. We use proven approaches, not generic supportive listening. Partnership dynamic, not expert-patient hierarchy. And the goal is always independence, building skills so you don't need therapy forever.
Everything you actually want to know before starting therapy.
The honest answer is most likely, but it’s not a guarantee. We know from research that evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, ACT, IBCT, etc.) are highly effective for the issues we treat. It’s for this reason we use proven methods to our clients, not guesswork. If you’re actively engaged and you have a good relationship with your therapist, you’re likely to notice meaningful gains well before the end of your treatment.
The length of time in therapy is entirely dependent on what you hope to accomplish. Some issues can be effectively treated on a weekly basis in just three to six months. Similarly, if you’re here to learn a few skills, you’re likely to acquire those quickly. Other issues and goals require ongoing engagement over the course of a year or more. Fortunately, we’re often able to determine timeline estimates early on in treatment. We’ll discuss this more in your assessment phase sessions.
Being a private pay practice gives us and our clients the freedom to not pathologize (and to keep confidential) the issues they present with and to uniquely tailor treatment duration and session length to best achieve their goals. We will help you make an informed decision about use of out-of-network benefits and are happy to provide you with the necessary documentation (“superbills”) to facilitate reimbursement.
In full transparency, we’re biased here. So, let us ask you this question instead: what will happen if the issues you’re facing go unchecked? If you’re dissatisfied with your own answer, you may be ready to take on therapy as an investment in yourself and the changes you hope to make.
Here, you’ll participate in a therapy that will actually move you toward your goals. Our clinicians provide a combination of evidence-based interventions to ensure that your care is uniquely tailored to your needs. Our style reaches well beyond supportive listening and compassion alone. We develop a true partnership with you, one that is honest, holds you accountable, and matches your effort every step of the way.
Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you’re willing to examine the patterns that aren’t serving you, address the relationship you have with your thoughts and emotions, and take meaningful action toward the life you want.
Serving clients in the Greater Boston Area and throughout the State of Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Florida (FL) and South Carolina (SC).
